3 Things to say “No” to in 2019

Fear, Feelings and Frustration

Fear is not God given.  2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.  Our creator does not want nor expects us to live with terror, dread, alarm, distress or anxiety.  He opposes its entrance into our personal spaces.  In fact He provides a weapon against fear – love. 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” When love is mature it gives fear an eviction notice banning it from occupancy.

Fear is sent to immobilize us. It is the equivalent of a stop sign on a street.  Fear comes to render you powerless to move ahead which prevents you from getting to your destination. In 2019 we cannot allow fear to stop our faith.  We need faith to live “our best life”.   It is with faith that our words become powerful and situates us to become mountain movers.  Mark 11:22 It is also by faith that we are saved.  Therefore, it is with no surprise that the enemy would use the defense of fear to fight our faith.  Fortunately, we can say “No” to any gift we do not want.  Voice your “No” and back it up by stamping “Return to Sender” so it can be given back to the owner.

In 2019 we cannot permit our feelings to have any control. Operating based on an expression of our soul will not end well.  Our feelings fluctuate like our blood pressure.  They are usually based on both external and internal stimuli and can be regular one minute and elevated the next.  It is dangerous and risky to be led by them.  Instead we must rely on the thing that will never go away and will stand forever- the Word of God. Psalm 119:89 tells us “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven”.  God advises “My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips” (Psalm 89:34). “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever”(Isaiah 40:8).

Success is often thwarted when we live, move and work in our emotions because good decisions cannot be made with insecurity.  When your emotions are sliding up and down your choices will be slippery and fall-inducing causing you pain, anguish and costing more than you are willing to pay.

When we learn to say “No” to our feelings and function on truth we will not forfeit the favor God has for us!

Things will NOT go your way every day of 2019.  Know this upfront and learn to make the appropriate adjustments when needed to your plan.  Revisions are necessary and beneficial.  Sometimes plan A had faults and defects that were essential to work out before executed.  We must take a step back from time to time to review and reconsider.  Perhaps when you made the plan your ideas were small and not equipped for the growth God intended. Alterations are not just to cut things down for fitting, but to expand as well.

Do not allow obstructions regarding the when, where and how make quit.  In 2019 we will not allow frustrations to keep us from fruition.  It is time to walk into the fulfillment of the things you have worked hard for.  Being armed to say “No” will get you there.
