Completeness is Here for you!

Do you Really Want It?

Can you believe we are about to embark on the year 2020?  As we get older time seems to accelerate!

I have heard many say they are ready to exit 2019 and start afresh and new beginnings always bring with them excitement; however, I remember many say the same thing in the exiting of 2018.

We cannot keep blaming the year or the things that transpired in it for our feelings of unhappiness or impartiality. This is a time that we should look within and do some reflection on what we have done this year and what we can do to bat 2020 “out of the park!”

The Number 20 in Bible symbolizes the cycles of completeness and a perfect waiting period. The word shalom is a greeting that means both hello and goodbye. The word itself means peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility. Nothing broken and nothing missing.

The word shalom is translated in English as peace.  There is a passage of scripture referring to an encounter with Jesus at the pools of Bethesda in  John 5:6 where Jesus asked a question..“When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been in that state a long time, He said unto him, “Wilt thou be made whole?” In other words do you want to live complete? Or do you want to live in peace?  The man had been there in the same state for 38 years.  His claim was that he desired to get to the place that promised wholeness, but when the healer was in front of him questioning he gave a reason why he had not been able to do it on his own instead of an affirmative answer.

As we move into a new year and decade we should be mindful that we are responsible for how the year unfolds. It can be a year of completeness but it will only happen if we become receivers.  According to John 14:27 we have been given peace (nothing missing, nothing broken, completeness) but it is our job to accept it and live in it.
