12 is not a large number, but its significance is relevant based on the situation. In currency, to most American adults 12 will not pay a bill or hardly buy a fast food meal for one, but to a child of 5 or 6 years old it is enough to buy a dozen match box cars and a good bit of candy.
When you are my age you look back and say of 12-year old’s, “you are just a baby”. But I can remember turning 12 and being excited that it was my final year before becoming a teenager. It seemed like such a big year in life, but decades later I realize I had no idea of what life had to offer.
In Biblical Numerology the number 12 is considered a perfect number. It symbolizes God’s power and authority, as well as serving as a perfect governmental foundation. There were 12 tribes of Israel and 12 apostles.
The year 2012 brought lots of triumphs and lots of sadness among athletes and performers. In 2012, LeBron James becomes youngest player in NBA history to record 20,000 career points and Whitney Houston a.k.a. The Voice passed away.
There are twelve months in a year, twelve inches in a foot, and twelve dials on an analog clock. The number 12 is a part of our everyday life and for me, it is the number of pounds that I’ve loss on my journey.
Just like the other examples given, it seems small in relationship to the amount I desire to lose. But it is significant as well (each and every pound is).
I have had good days and bad, but I am dedicated to multiplying this number by 5. Thanks for all who are along for the ride with me. I appreciate your support and encouragement. 12 down and 48 to go!
